Profisol Industrial Automation, a business division of Oberix Group Pty Ltd (“Oberix Group”, “we”, “us” or “our”), is committed to protecting your privacy and handling personal information in an open and transparent manner. Oberix Group Pty Ltd operates multiple business brands, including Leading Edge Automation, Alerton Australia, Profisol Industrial Automation, Abakus Analytics, Conservia, and Qantec Automation. As an integrated group, our teams, systems, and business functions may be shared across the group. Personal information may be accessed or used by authorised Oberix Group personnel where reasonably necessary for business, service delivery, administrative, technical support, marketing, security, or compliance purposes.

  We do not typically collect “sensitive information” (as defined by the Privacy Act), such as health data, racial origin, or political opinions. If collection of sensitive information becomes necessary, we will only do so with your explicit consent or where required by law.

We collect information through various channels, primarily directly from the individual concerned. This includes:

  • Submissions through website enquiry forms (currently routed to Google Workspace).
  • Direct communication via email, telephone, or in-person interactions.
  • Subscription to marketing updates or business communications via platforms like Mailchimp.
  • Automated technologies including cookies, Google Tag Manager, and LinkedIn Insight Tags.

3.2 Anonymity and Pseudonymity

Where practicable, you have the option of dealing with us anonymously or by using a pseudonym. However, this is generally not possible for matters requiring formal identification, such as project contracts or system access.

Overseas Disclosure: Some of our service providers may store or process information outside Australia, notably in the United States. Where we disclose information overseas, we take reasonable steps to ensure the recipient handles the information in accordance with the APPs.

7. Data Security and Retention

7.1 Security Measures

We take reasonable steps to protect personal information from misuse, loss, and unauthorised access. These measures include technical safeguards, access controls, and internal procedures. While we strive to protect your data, no method of electronic storage is completely secure.

7.2 Retention

We retain personal information for as long as required for our business and legal obligations. Most personal information is stored for a minimum of seven (7) years to meet project and legal record-keeping requirements. When information is no longer needed, we take steps to destroy or permanently de-identify it.

Under APPs 12 and 13, you have a right to request access to the personal information we hold about you and to request its correction. To make a request, please contact our Data Security Officer in writing.

8.2 Complaints

If you have a concern about how your information has been handled, please contact us using the details below. Our Data Security Officer will investigate the matter and aim to respond within a reasonable timeframe (typically 30 days).
